| The Good Shepherd
Project seeks funds from a variety of sources. We rely heavily on donations
and child sponsorship from generous supporters and where appropriate, we
make applications to trusts and charitable foundations.
The Gift Aid scheme enables
us to recover a very valuable extra 25% on all donations made by UK taxpayers. Volunteer
teams finance their own travel and accommodation expenses and usually
make a gift of their surplus funds. Past gifts have furnished the Safe
House and covered running costs of Projeto Alcançando
Vidas for 24 months. |

Supporters of The
Good Shepherd Project are innovative in their fundraising, using their considerable
skills and talents for the benefit of the children in Brazil:

| The Eggstravaganza alternative
gift campaign.
Just £9, will buy a hen chick, it's food, vaccinations run & nesting box. Chicks are given (in broods of 12) to be raised by needy families. At five months they will begin producing eggs providing food for the family, the surplus being sold to provide a modest income. Families receiving the hens will be chosen according to their need and high priority will be given to widows and single mothers. This scheme is being run in partnership with EMATER an organisation which promotes sustainable, social, agricultural programmes and will provide technical support and advice on a monthly basis to the 'new poultry farmers'. Recipients of this gift will
be sent a handmade gift card and a leaflet explaining the benefits of
this scheme. |
