Projeto Alcançando Vidas' existing building is due to be significantly extended to meet the ever increasing needs of the children and families of the community. Construction work, funded by an international charitable foundation, is due to commence in 2008 with completion by the end of the year.

The work of the project is currently restricted by the size of it's building with many children names on the waiting list
After consultation with project staff and an assessment of the community's needs, foundation staff put forward a development proposal that will cater for up to three hundred children and provide the following facilities.

Top floor - a sports hall with changing rooms, a laundry and a function room with a dedicated kitchen. This floor will have a separate entrance so that it can be accessed independently of the school and rented out to generate revenue.

Middle floor - a volunteer apartment (again with independent access) for up to eight people, a library, playroom, staff room, classrooms, showers and toilets.

Ground floor - a director/secretary office, medical room, community room (where various professionals can hold clinics for the people), a music room, an arts & crafts room, nursery and toddler classroom, a kitchen and dining room.

Disabled access has been incorporated into the design and there will be a lift to the upper floors.

Outside there will be a garden/waiting area for visitors and to the rear a safe play area. The community gate will provide access to the public areas of the building and the school will be served by its own secure access
