Projeto Bom Pastor

The Good Shepherd Project partners Projeto Bom Pastor in it's care of and development of children and young people through the work of the Aprisco Centre.

Projeto Bom Pastor also actively serves other sectors of the community in partnership with other organisations:

The PETI programme is a youth training initiative, conceived and financed by the federal government in Brazil.

Its aim is to eradicate child labour whilst teaching young people to be responsible citizens and equipping them to be 'agents for change' in their neighbourhoods.

Funds are allocated to local government, who then award contracts to non-governmental organisations to run the courses.

Youth Citizenship
Children from between the ages of 7 and 15 years participate in the programme which is a mixture of educational activities, art and sport.
Two girls
Projeto Bom Pastor has been awarded this annual contract for several years and runs the course for approximately 80 children each time.
