Whilst Bournemouth's fourth choice goalkeeper, Dimitri Brinias had a week long trial at Carrow Road in early November 2001 but the Canaries decided not to further their interest. Dimitri played for Greece as a youth but recently was called up for Australia's Under 17 side. Dimitri has also interested Rushden & Diamonds and has had a trial with Portsmouth.

In June 2002, Dmitri transferred to Greek giants Panathinaikos after he had impressed on trial. He spent the 2002/03 season with their feeder club Marko.He has since returned to Australia and is playing for Wollongong Wolves in the New South Wales Premier League.
