Biography

Belgian Under-21 defender Rocky Bushiri joined Norwich's Under-23s on 8th July 2019, signing a four year deal.

Bushiri joined the youth academy of K.V. Oostende in 2012 after impressing in a provincial tournament representing Walloon Brabant. He signed his first professional contract with Oostende in June 2017, for 2 years He made his professional debut in a 1-0 Belgian First Division A loss to KV Mechelen on 9th December 2017, becoming the youngest ever debutant for Oostende. He was loaned to Eupen making 33 appearances. He has been capped five times for the Belgium Under-21 side including playing in the European Under-21 Championship in Italy and San Marino in June 2019.

On 1st August 2019, Bushiri joined League One Blackpool on a season long loan. Seasiders manager Simon Grayson said "We're delighted to bring Rocky in on loan. I was made aware of his availability by a contact at Norwich and his arrival will strengthen competition in the defensive line. He's a strong, athletic defender who has played numerous times in the Belgian First Division and represented his country at under-21 level.

Rocky made his debut on 3rd August 2019 as an 85th minute substitute for James Husband against Bristol Rovers.

Bushiri made seven appearances for Blackpool, scoring once for them in the EFl Trophy against Wolves' Under-21 side. Due to the lack of game time, he returned to Norwich on 7th January 2020 and then joined Belgian side Sint-Truiden (nicknamed De Kanaries) on loan. He made seven appearances for Sint-Truiden before the Covid-19 pandemic ended the Belgian season early.

On 18th June 2020 he was loaned to fellow Belgian side Mechelen for the 2020/21 campaign. He made six appearances for Mechelen before Norwich curtailed the loan. On 26th January 2021 he was loaned to KAS Eupen. A knee surgery that sidelined him for four months and prematurely ended his loan at KAS Eupen. 

In July 2021 he trialled with Coventry City and played in their pre-season friendly with Mansfield. However manager Mark Robins elected not to go ahead with a deal for the Belgian due to concerns over his fitness.

On 9th January 2022 The Sun speculated that he was to join Scottish Premiership side Hibernian on a six month loan. This was confirmed on 10th January 2021. He made 15 appearances. His move to Hibs was made permanent on 8th June 2022, signing a three year deal.

In March 2023 he switched his international allegience to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and made his international debut in September 2023 against South Africa.
