Steve Callinan broke into the Norwich City youth team during the 1993/94 season. Impressing in his 6 appearances, scoring once, was enough for him to be upgraded from an associate schoolboy to a first year trainee. He also played for the Under 18 "B" team in the Essex & Herts Youth League and the Fenland Youth League, scoring regularly in both competitions including 4 against Diss Town on March 29th 1994.

He left the Canaries during the following season and has been somewhat of a footballing nomad. He has played for Cambridge City, Sudbury Town (95 to 98), Hitchin Town, Langford, Barton Rovers (Jan 99-June99), Gravesend and Northfleet (June 99-Sep 00) before joining Aylesbury.
