Former Oldham Athletic player Aaron Chalmers trialled for Norwich's Under-19s in their 2-1 win at Arsenal on 13th December 2008.

Chalmers is a midfielder who signed a professional contract with Oldham in May 2007. His senior debut for Oldham came on 12th April 2008 in a 2–0 win versus Leyton Orient coming on as a substitute in the 74th minute for Matthew Wolfenden.His contract was cancelled by Oldham on 2nd December 2008 following a breach of discipline

On 25 March 2009, he joined Macclesfield Town on non-contract terms following a trial with the club before signing for Hibernian at the start of 2009/10. He returned to England on 15th June 2010 to sign for Mossley
