Biography

Paul Clements joined Norwich City as goalkeeping coach on 12th July 2023 after the departure of Ed Wootten to Leeds United.

Clements has previously worked at Middlesbrough (2005-2012), Wolves (2012-15) and at Huddersfield, where an eight year spell ended in June 2023. Whilst at Huddersfield he had been part of David Wagner's backroom team.

Clements said: “I’m really excited by the club and its ambitions. I know a lot of the staff at the club already. I’ve worked with David [Wagner] before, as well as many others at the club, so I feel like I’m ready to come in and get going straight away. I know about how David likes to work. He’s a top head coach, who is very demanding, but also fair and open. I’ve been across and seen the facilities a few times; they’re top class. The club has had a few seasons in the Premier League and it’s now about doing everything we can to have a successful season in the Championship. That’s everyone’s goal and I’m looking forward to playing my part.”

Sporting director Stuart Webber said: “We’re all delighted to welcome Paul to the club. Paul is someone whom a lot of the staff have worked with previously at Huddersfield and Wolves, and is a top coach. I have no doubt that Paul will continue to develop and build on the excellent work and foundation provided by Ed and help take us to another level. Paul is seen as one of the top young coaches in England and when the opportunity to bring him to the club came up we didn’t hesitate."
