Andrew played only seventeen minutes of first team football for the Canaries as substitute against Newcastle United in September 1981. He joined amateur side Gorleston Town in 1983 but had problems with a knee injury. After a three year retirement, he joined Eastern Counties League side Norwich United in 1987 and played with them through to 1991. Andrew is the nephew of former City manager Dave Stringer

Talking with Andrew at the Norwich City centenary, he informed me that he was working for British Gas at Canley but was still involved with football, working for the Football In The Community scheme at Great Yarmouth.
