Phil Mortimer is a defender from Romford , who was in the same City youth side as Ade Akinbiyi, Deryn Brace, Jamie Cureton, Andy Johnson and Andy Marshall.

Phil failed to make the grade at Norwich but played later for Diss Town and Fakenham of the Jewson Eastern Counties League. In December 1998, Phil joined fellow Eastern Counties leaguers Watton United but returned to Fakenham in the summer of 2000.
