26 year old holding midfielder Alexander Tettey joined Norwich 
                City from French side Rennes on 24th August 2012 for an undisclosed 
                fee. The Norwegian international became Chris Hughton's seventh 
                signing of the 2012 pre-season.
              After playing as a youth for Bodo/Glint and Kolstad, Tettey started 
                his professional career with Rosenborg as a central midfielder. 
                After a loan spell with Skedd, coach Knut Tørum in 2007 
                made him a defensive midfielder. In the 2008 season he was appointed 
                Rosenborg's vice-captain and with club legend Roar Strand in and 
                out of the team Tettey was a frequent captain
              On 31 July 2009, he signed a four year contract with French club 
                Rennes. Tettey got his debut for the club shortly thereafter, 
                but got injured in his first match for the club . His stay in 
                Rennes has thereafter been plagued with injuries, but Tettey has 
                nonetheless managed to pick up 60 appearances for the club before 
                joining City.
              Despite being born in Ghana, Tettey is now a naturalized Norwegian 
                and has been capped for the Norwegian under-18, 19 and 21 national 
                teams, and he made his first appearance on the Norwegian national 
                team in their 21 win against Argentina on 22nd August 2007. 
                At the time of his transfer, he had 14 caps for Norway.
              Tettey made his debut for Norwich in the 1-0 win over Doncaster 
                Rovers in the Capital One Cup on 26th September 2012, scoring 
                the only goal of the game. 
              Tettey finished the season with 29 appearances and 1 goal to 
                his name, as the Canaries finished 11th in the Premier League.
              Tettey made 22 appearances, scoring a wonder goal against Sunderland 
                in the 2013/14 season in which Norwich were relegated from the 
                Premier League. 
              He made 39 appearances for City in 2014/15, scoring twice, as 
                City secured promotion back to the Premier League. Tettey played 
                in the 2-0 Championship

              Tettey made 23 appearances for City in 2015/16, scoring twice, as the Canaries were relegated from the Premier League. Norwich extended his contract until 2017 on 10th June 2016. The following season saw him make 37 appearances. he made 27 appearances in 2017/18.
              Tettey signed a new two year contract with Norwich at the beginning of May 2018. In the 2018/19 season, he made 32 appearances, scoring once as Norwich won the Championship title and promotion to the Premier League. The following season saw him make 32 appearances to take his total to 241.
              A further 22 appearances came during the 2020/21 campaign as the Canaries won the Championship; the majority as substitute. His fifth start of the season was against Barnsely on 8th May 2021 which was his final appearance for Norwich with the club confirming that they would not renew his contract. This appearance was his 263rd taking him to joint 32nd in the all time appearances list. 
              On 12th May 2021 he signed for former club Rosenborg on a one year contract with the intention  for Tettey to move into their academy coaching set-up when he retires. Rosenborg are managed by former Canary and former Norway manager Age Hareide.
              On 18th December 2021 he announced his retirement after a 17 year professional career. 
              In 2024 he was appointed Assistant Manager at Rosenborg.
