English youth international midfielder Reece Wilkes joined Norwich on 3rd July 2025 from Fleetwood Town. The 16-year-old, who made his senior debut for Fleetwood in an EFL Trophy defeat to Aston Villa's under-21s during 2024/25, signed as a first-year scholar at Carrow Road and will initially join up with the Canaries' under-18 side.Wilkes was the only non-Premier League or Championship player called up to England's under-15 squad in 2024, and has also played twice for the Young Lions' under-16s.
Wilkes said: "I'm excited to get started here. I'm an attacking midfielder, but can play anywhere across the midfield. My game is about creating chances and obviously scoring goals from midfield. That's what I'm best at. The experiences (at Fleetwood) have helped me become a better player and a better person. I'm just ready to get started now. Excited for pre-season, it's been tough with exams but I'm glad to get them all done now and focus on football. I just want to get settled here, it's a long way from home. My first time away from home. I just want to help the team with as many goals and assists as possible."
