On 15th November 2017, Norwich announced the appointment of Dean Wright as Assistant Academy Manager.

Wright will work under head of the academy Steve Weaver with the pair having worked together at Huddersfield Town where he was a Football Foundation Phase coach. The pair also worked together at Bury Town. “I recruited Dean from Bury at Huddersfield and in that time he proved to be one of the best developers I’ve worked with."

Wright left Norwich on 24th June 2022 to become Academy Manager at Ipswich Town, replacing Lee O'Neil, who departed Portman Road at the end of the 2021/22 season.
