Roderick Young trialled 
                with Norwich City's Under-18s playing in their 3-1 defeat to Blackburn 
                Rovers' Under-18s on 5th November 2012. Young scored Norwich's 
                goal. Previously with Exeter, he joined the Under-18s and made 
                15 appearances, scoring five goals
              Young played in both FA Youth 
                Cup semi-final matches against Notts Forest which the Canaries 
                won to progess to the FA Youth Cup final. He also played in both 
                legs of the final which the Canaries won 1-0 and 3-2 against Chelsea 
                to secure victory in the FA 
                Youth Cup for the first time in 30 years.
              He then played for the Norwich City Under-21 Development Squad. 
                After a loan spell at Bishops Stortford, Rod was released at the 
                end of the 2013/14 season
              In May 2014, he signed for Conference side Welling. In August 
                2014, he was loaned back to Bishops Stortford. In January 2015, 
                he was loaned to Grays Athletic.
              At the beginning of Auguist 2015, Rod signed for Ryman League 
                side Ware. He then moved to Conference South side Havant & 
                Waterlooville 
              At the end of March 2018, he moved for Sheffield FC to Newcastle Town
              He later played for Bradford Park Avenue, Ilkeston Town, Buxton, Gainsborough, Radcliffe, Grantham and Frickley before joining Long Eaton United in June 2022. 
              At the end of July 2023 he signed for Royston Town of the Southern League.
