In the July 2000 edition of Spurs Monthly, their "Life
After The Lane" article reported that Spurs' young midfielder
David Lee signed for Gillingham in March 2000 previously having
had trials at Luton and Norwich. David was born on 28th March
                1980 in Basildon.

David signed for Southend United at the beginning of August 2000.
In May 2001, David failed to agree new terms with the Shrimpers
and moved on to Hull City. In January 2002, David returned south
joining Brighton in a swap deal for Matthew Wicks. David was loaned
out to Bristol Rovers in October 2002 but returned to Sussex on
                10th November 2002.
David was due to have a trial with Yeovil at the beginning of
February 2003. On 23rd April, he trialled for Cambridge United's
reserves in a 3-0 victory over Gillingham. David's fellow triallists
                included John Sutton and Daniel
Perry. After another strong performance for the Reseves against
Colchester, Cambridge's manager hinted strongly that he would
like to take Lee to the Abbey Stadium permanently. David also
seemed keen on a move to Cambridge and urged Brighton to release
him from his contract with a considerable pay-off as his wages
would drop by 50% on joining the U's. The Cambridge move did not
materialise as David was last seen on trial at Colchester.
In October 2003, David was loaned by Brighton to lowly Thurrock
of the Ryman League. Returning to Brighton, he was released by
the Seagulls in September 2004. Although Colchester and Hornchurch
showed an interest in him, he trained with Oldham Athletic and
signed for them on a non-contract basis on 4th October 2004. This
was cancelled by the end of November 2004.
After a short spell with Thurrock, David signed for Stevenage
in mid-February 2005 even though he was scheduled for a trial
with Aldershot. He changed his mind quickly and joined Aldershot
the following week. Although he missed much of the 2005/6 season
trhough injury, he signed a new one year contract on 30th May
2006. In August 2006, David was made available for loan so that
                he would gain match fitness.
Released by the Shots in February 2007, David signed for Ryman
League Division One side Harlow Town at the end of February 2007
and made his debut against Canvey Island on 24th February 2007.
After a brief spell with Braintree, he switched to AFC Hornchurch
                in the summer of 2007.
